This course discusses rigid behavior characteristics in young children including autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) that are characterized by symptoms which vary according to the individual. As researchers continue to learn more about inflexible behavior, definitions or diagnosis may become more certain to identify other underlying problems. Caregivers, parents and others involved in the life of a child that displays volatile and unhealthy behavior, need support and resources with accurate information to determine what is best for the child’s environment.
